“I committed to Elmhurst because I feel they have an up and coming program and I wanted to be apart of that,” Kees said in a message on Instagram.
Kees made the All-Sunset League second team last year, helping the Griffins overcome an 0-4 start last season en route to finishing second in the always-tough Sunset League and making the playoffs.
“I’m very proud of Daniel and his commitment to play NCAA D3 lacrosse for Elmhurst College, well deserved and know he’ll have a great college lacrosse career. He is a very dedicated player, who commits to year round training, and has matured over the years into a very talented and legit LSM with a lot of experience,” Griffins coach Tim Fox said.
Kees is the second player to commit for Los Alamitos in recent weeks. Goalie Guido Cuccia announced his commitment to play at Piedmont College in Denmorest, Georgia on November 14.
Last season, Elmhurst went 13-3 overall and 5-1 in conference play. The Bluejays lost to Carthage in the semifinals of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament, losing by a score of 15-11.
“I would like to thank my parents for helping me through this process. I would also like to thank coach [Tim] Fox and all the coaches I’ve had through my career at Los Al and during club season,” Kees said.
