The Lacrosse Club is hosting a coaching clinic on Saturday, Dec. 3, for coaches of all levels that will feature instruction from Mike Muetzel, better known as Lax Coach Mike.

Muetzel will lead a classroom and film presentation at Culver City High School beginning promptly at 8:30 a.m. and lasting 90 minutes, then lead an on-field practice demonstration for another 90 minutes. Cost for the clinic is $50, and each attendee will receive two of Lax Coach Mike’s popular eBooks featuring Transition and Specialty Lacrosse Drills, a $40 value.

To register, contact at [email protected] by Tuesday, Nov. 28.

“Mike you are doing a great job, the site is fantastic, really cool … There are so many great young coaches out there, which I attribute to all the coaches sharing ideas; your site is the ‘premier’ of the ability to do that.”
— Coach Bill Tierney, Denver Men’s Lacrosse

Muetzel is one of the top lacrosse coaching resources in the country. His website, laxcoachmike.com is the largest, most visited, dedicated resource for over 7,000 loyal member lacrosse coaches — including lacrosse coaches from the rec level through many NCAA D-I programs — with more than 900,000 page views from lacrosse coaches.

Coach Mike Muetzel

  • US Lacrosse Coach of the Year, Georgia
  • SELC DI Coach of the Year, Auburn
  • Popular Columnist for Laxpower.com
  • Author six eBooks on Practice Lacrosse Plans
  • Speaker, US Lacrosse Convention
  • Head Coach, Copperhead National Team, Dick’s National U17 Champions and seventeen tournament championships across North America

Mike has spent more than 150 hours of personal one-on-one time with more than 60 of the greatest Men’s College Coaches from D-I through D-III, discussing and then openly sharing, the significant changes in their lacrosse coaching philosophies, their new-style practice plans and drills, high-pace practices and a focus on fun and touches.

This evolving nature of coaching lacrosse players in practice results in tremendous levels of improvement in very short periods of time, and Mike is quick to recognize they are not his concepts but from the nationally recognized coaches so willing to share their changes in philosophy and practice. The key is Mike’s ability to take the latest trends at the NCAA level, combined with his 35 years of lacrosse experience, and apply them to expedite the improvement of players from the U13 level through his nationally ranked travel teams. Very simply, players love the practice time featuring 300 touches per player in each practice.

He has coached at every level from youth, high school to college players in the SELC, the largest Conference in the MCLA, and received peer recognition from other coaches at every level. His teams include a new start-up which in four years competed for a state championship, as well coaching a team from Georgia to the Dick’s National Travel Team Championship.
