The first ever lacrosse game at Lakewood Memorial field took place last Wednesday night between Cherry Creek and Wheat Ridge. Cherry Creek came out early and took a 3-0 lead. The Farmers fought back and found themselves in a shootout to finish the first quarter down 6-4. The defenses settled down and each team only gave up one goal each before half time. Wheat Ridge took advantage of a couple of extra man opportunities to close the gap to 9-8 to end the third quarter but the Bruins took over the forth quarter and prevailed 15-11. Look forward to many more games like this at Lakewood Memorial Field. Great venue for lacrosse.
