Chapman Still No. 1 in the MCLA

While No. 1 Chapman quietly goes about their business in MCLA Division 1, building a 12-0 record with four games to play, all the buzz seems to be about Cal Poly and Grand Canyon. Cal Poly (9-1) moved up to no. 3 and Grand Canyon, the defending champions, leaped four spots to No. 4 after dispatching No. 5  BYU last Friday.

Despite an undefeated 10-0 record, No. 2 Concordia cannot get past equally undefeated Dayton in the Division 2 poll.  Dayton garnered 14 of the 20 first place votes to stay on top of the perch.  Concordia captured the other six first place votes.

Chapman sophomore Dylan Garner made the MCLA Division 1 Honor Roll for the second time this season.  The top-ranked Panthers swept Oregon and Oregon State this weekend on the road thanks to a combined 13 points from Garner (8g, 5a).

Concordia senior Chase Matranga made the MCLA Division 2 Under Armour Honor Roll for his commanding performance against cross-town rival Cal State Fullerton.  The Dana Hills alum scored four goals and set up two others to lead the No. 2 Eagles to a 14-10 victory over the No. 17 Titans.
