It’s Memorial Day weekend, which means it’s championship weekend in college lacrosse. With 30 Orange County players now playing D-1 lacrosse, it’s no surprise that a handful of former OC stars will be on the field in Boston representing their colleges when Denver takes on Maryland and Towson takes on Ohio State. Here’s a quick viewer’s guide of OC players participating in Final Four weekend:
#23 Nate Marano (Foothill)
Now a sophomore midfielder, Marano scored a goal last week in Denver’s impressive win over Notre Dame. MaxLaxOC.com believes Marano’s goal last week is the first ever scored by a former OC player in an NCAA men’s playoff game, but we’re still researching it. Either way, it was an impressive tally for the big lefty who scored 8 goals and 4 assists this season.
#32 Sam Harnisch (St. Margaret’s)
In limited action this year, the freshman attack man notched one assist.
#26 Ryan Harnisch (St. Margaret’s)
Sam’s older brother, FO specialist Ryan Harnish appeared in 9 games this season.
#10 Brett Greenlee (Corona Del Mar)
The former Sea Kings defensive star appeared in 10 games snatching 2 GBs.
#34 Scotty Barger (Trabuco Hills)
The freshman LSM redshirted this year for the upstart Towson Tigers who face Ohio State.
