No. 2 Corona del Mar High School opened their spring break trip to the Bay Area with a 10-3 win over Bellarmine Prep. The Sea Kings jumped out to a first quarter 5-1 lead on goals from five different players, and were never threatened. CdM expanded the lead to 8-3 by halftime and shutout the Bells in the second half enroute to the 10-3 final scored. CdM has not allowed more than four goals in the nine games they have played this year.
Senior Max Kline led the Sea Kings with four points (3 goals, 1 assist). Sophomore Will Favreau celebrated Spring Break with his first two varsity goals. Seniors Noah Howe (1g, 1a), Sherwin Gersten (1g), Hugh Crance (1g), and juniors Jordan Greenhall (1g, 1a), Stephen Von Der Ahe (1g), and Jason Simaan (1a) completed the CdM scoring. Simaan won nine faceoffs. Senior Hoyt Crance rejected five Bellarmine shots.
Reigning MaxLaxOC Player of the Week Chad Redfearn picked up five groundballs while teaming up with Brett Greenlee (2gb), Brian Leguay (1gb), the Crance twins, and the rest of the defense to hold the Bells to their lowest point total of the year.
