Corona del Mar closed out their Spring Break trip to the Bay Area by shutting out the Marin Catholic Wildcats 13-0. According to the records kept on LaxPower.com, the shutout was a first in the history of the Wildcats program. The Sea Kings also shut out Saint Viator (IL) for the first time in their history on March 31. With two shutouts and four one-goal games to their credit this year, CdM is allowing an average of about 1.5 goals per game.
And while Marin Catholic was having trouble scoring goals, senior Nino Chavez was not. He lead the Sea Kings with 6 goals. Senior Max Kline (3g, 2a) was nearly as prolific with a 5-point night. Senior Sherwin Gersten (2g, 1a) and junior Jordan Greenhall (1g, 2a) finished with 3 points each. The (11-0) Sea Kings are now ready to return home. They travel to La Costa Canyon (5-6) on Tax Day.
