CDM Opens With Win

No. 2 Corona del Mar High School cruised past Edison High School 15-1 to in the season opener for both teams.  Junior Jordan Greenhall’s 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists, 2 groundballs) lead the balanced CdM offensive output.  Also scoring for the Sea Kings were seniors Noah Howe (2g, 2a, 2 gb), Max Kline (1g, 3a, 3gb), Niño Chavez (1g, 2a), Sherwin Gersten (2g, 1a), and (1g, 1gb), juniors Will Cord (2g), Nate Neumann (1g), and Nick Yi (1g), sophomore Will Favreau (2g).

Jr. Jason Simaan won 15 faceoffs to keep the possession arrow in CdM’s favor throughout the game.   On the defensive end of the field, seniors  (3 gb), Chad Redfearn (3 gb), and Hoyt Crance (2 gb), kept the pressure off of Hoyt Crance and Nick Guizen, who each rejected two Edison shots.

Edison faces another Top 20 team when they host Mater Dei High School on Wednesday.  They then travel to El Dorado High School on Friday.

CdM takes a bit of break before hosting San Clemente High School on March 14.
