CdM, Foothill Move Up in Nike/LM Western Top 10

Corona del Mar moved up from No. 7 to No. 6 in the Nike\Lacrosse Magazine Western Top 10 after winning its seventh consecutive last week.  The Knights jumped back into the rankings, climbing all the way to No. 7 after defeating No. 4 La Costa Canyon in overtime.

6. Corona del Mar (Calif.), 14-1. The Sea Kings scored six unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to beat Trabuco Hills (Calif.) 14-7 on Saturday. Jordan Greenhall (four goals, one assist), Stephen Von der ahe (three goals, two assists) and Jason Simaan (16 of 17 faceoffs) led CdM, which claimed its seventh straight win since dropping a one-goal loss to Torrey Pines (Calif.) on April 2. 7. Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.), 13-4. The Knights rejoin the rankings with an impressive 12-11 overtime win over previous No. 3 La Costa Canyon (Calif.). Jared Copeland came up with a steal to set up Kevin Kodzis’ game-winning goal. They are 4-2 in their last six games, which have all been decided by one or two goals, and two of their losses this season were to Mid-Atlantic talent. Previous ranking: NR
