The Corona del Mar High School Sea Kings overcame an early three goal deficit to defeat the Huntington Beach Oilers 10-7 and run their winning streak to 35 consecutive games.

Some times the games are close. Some times not so much. Some times Cdm comes from behind and sometimes they lead from wire to wire. When the final whistle blows though it seems the result is always the same: a W for CdM and an L for the other guys. On Wednesday, CDM spotted Huntington Beach a 3-0 lead before scoring the next five goals before half time and eventually walking away with a 10-7 win. Once again Jack Ortlieb (six goals, one assist) lead the CdM offense. Chris Von der Ahe (two goals), Max Kline (one goal), and Casey Mix (one goal, two assists) balanced out the CdM scoring. Todd Kitzens picked up five groundballs for the Sea Kings. Goalie Hoyt Crance had 4 saves.

Jerritt Rodenas (three goals, one assist), Alex Kowalski (one goal), Taylor Refice (one goal), Rick Berge (one goal, one assist), and Micah Willis (one goal) provided the firepower for the Oilers. Trevor Jackson as usual was a standout in goal with 12 Saves.

CdM now heads into the home stretch with a 12-0 record as they prepare for Thousand Oaks on Saturday. The Oilers are 9-2. They will play Los Al on Saturday in a battle that could determine the Sunset league title.
