corona_del_mar_sea_kingCorona del Mar High School opened the playoffs in typical Sea King fashion by holding their opponent to less than 5 goals.  In a Battle of the Bay rematch, CDM cruised past a battered bruised Newport Harbor squad 12-3.  It was the 10th time this season that CdM has held an opponent to less than 5 goals.  Juniors Hugh Crance and Brett Greenlee were the stats leaders for a defense that limited the Sailor to 7 shots on goals.  Crance caused two turnovers and picked up an assist.  Greenlee caused on turnover,  scooped up 3 ground balls, and had 1 assist. Hoyt Crance had a quiet game between the pipes with 4 saves.

Ben Palitz led the CdM offense with 3 goals, 2 assists, and 2 ground balls.  Stephen Von Der Ahe recorded 2 goals, 1 assist, and 2 ground balls.  Noah Howe hit for the cycle with 1 goal, 2 assists, and 3 ground balls.  Niño Chavez and Sherwin Gersten had two goals apiece.  Jay Damon (1 goal, 1 assist) and Jack Denning (1 goal, 1 ground ball) completed the CdM scoring. Jason Simaan and Nick Yi dished out 1 assist each.
