Despite starting their season off with a 2-8 record, Cathedral Catholic has moved up three spots in this week’s MaxLaxSD coaches poll, to move into the No. 9 spot.
In the midst of a four-game winning streak, the Dons (6-8) are coming off of back-to-back impressive one-goal victories. After defeating St. Augustine 14-13 in overtime last Tuesday, Cathedral Catholic followed up by beating Loyola (Los Angeles), who is currently ranked No. 1 in the MaxLaxLA coaches poll, 11-10.
With four games remaining on their season, the Dons will look to continue their winning streak, as three of their final four remaining opponents currently rank higher than them in the coaches poll.
In addition, Rancho Bernardo (11-3) jumped up two spots to No. 6 in this week’s coaches poll. Currently on a five-game winning streak, the Broncos enter league play having defeated their opponents by an average of six goals during their five-game stretch.
Furthermore, Coronado (9-3) and Westview (12-3) both moved up one spot to claim the No. 3 and No. 4 ranks. There was no shake up in the top two spots, as Torrey Pines (9-1) remained at No. 1 and La Costa Canyon (11-1) stayed at No. 2.
Below are the results of the week four MaxLaxSD coaches poll:
