Denver-bound Los Alamitos senior Caitlin Derry is this week’s MaxLaxOC Girl’s Player of the Week!
Derry is one of those players that lives and breathes lacrosse. It shows in her competitiveness and team-oriented style of play. Caitlin is a facilitator first that is crucial on a team with as much talent as Los Alamitos, but can also score seemingly at will. She leads the team in ground balls and draw controls with 55. She is also third on the team in points.
Coach Emily Mukai on Derry, “Stats are indicative of the type of player she is….ground balls and draw controls are the nuts and bolts of the midfield. She is an extremely hard worker with incredible stick skills”
In her spare time she also gives back to the northern Orange County community and coaches for Beach Cities Youth Lacrosse.
