Mater Dei senior defenseman Bennett Brewer has committed to play Division III lacrosse for the Whittier College Poets. Bennett, who plays club lacrosse for FCA and Brady’s Bunch, is a key member of one of the most improved defenses in Orange County. Last season the Monarchs defense held ten opponents to single digits while leading the team to the playoffs for the first time in program history.
Mater Dei head coach Paddy Chester on Brewer’s decision: “Bennett is a wonderful young man who will excel in the Whittier College environment both academically and on the Lacrosse field. He is a pleasure to have around the Mater Dei lacrosse programme and as he is here will be an asset to his team. His enthusiasm, perseverance along with his athletic prowess and a ‘never say never’ attitude will serve him well in the college arena. Bennett has worked hard over the past year and continues to develop in his position. He is a great example to all in the Mater Dei Lacrosse programme and what we stand for here at school. The entire Mater Dei coaching staff are extremely proud and excited for Bennett and wish him all the best for this fantastic opportunity. Pride, Passion and Belief.”
