Box Wrap: Leverage U13s Stay Undefeated In LA Box League

The Leverage U13s fell behind early but recovered to down the Santa Monica Dragons Blue 12-8 on Sunday, remaining undefeated in the Los Angeles Box Lacrosse League.

Here are scores and coach’s comments on the weekend’s games:

Sun., Oct. 4
Leverage Black 12, Dragons Blue 8
The Leverage U13 Black team stayed undefeated with a very hard-fought and well played game against an extremely good Dragons Blue team. Dragons came out fast, strong and determined, to go up 7-3 after one. In the second and third periods, the Leverage U13s started to settle down and played some great team ball led by Ed Shean, Bradon Woomer and Nick Butler.
— Chris Jewett, Leverage
We played another tough game but fell short against Leverage Black. Gage Dado had a strong game, keeping it within reach. Evan Miner came up with some big saves to give us a chance, but in the end we fell short.
— Matt Cannone, Dragons

Beach 8, Dragons Green 7
We lost a hard fought game to Beach Lacrosse by one goal. Austin Sauter had another great game between the pipes and kept the it close until the end.

Dragons 11, Trident Blue 10

Our U11 played an intense game from the first to last whistle. This week’s goalie, Robbie Lennartson, had some big saves to secure the 11-10 win over Trident in a great team win. It seems like these days every game for our U11s is a one-goal game.

Trident Orange 11, Leverage 4

Sat., Oct. 3

Dragons 17, Santa Monica 1
We had a great bounce-back game after last week’s loss to Cobras. Staying out of the box was a big key that allowed the offense to put up points. Kyle Lucas was back between the pipes and had a great game, allowing only one goal.
