Bill Tierney, People Who Have Influenced How I Coach

Host Fred Opie interviews Cortland State alum Bill Tierney, the head lacrosse coach at the University of Denver. This is in part a rebroadcast of segments of the interview Fred did with coach Tierney for the series Cortland State the cradle of coaches and new content in which Fred talks to Tierney about his time as an assistant coach at Johns Hopkins University before going on to become the head coach of Princeton University and his early days at Princeton learning from their legendary basketball coach Pete Carril. Of note is Tierney thoughts on the contributions and the legacy of Hopkins’ coach and defensive genius Freddy Smith.
