Beckman Runs Past El Toro

The Beckman Patriots are starting to get hot. After scoring only seven goals in each of their first two games while allowing their opponents to reach double digits both games, Beckman has made a 180 degree turn.  Last Friday the Patriots outscored Huntington Beach 11-4. Last night the Patriots held El Toro to six goals en route to a 14-6 victory.

Wesley Filipak was top shooter for the Patriots on Thursday night with five goals. Nick White, Alex Knox, Alex Malmlund, and Jake Waltz ended the night with two goals each. Faceoff man scored his only goal of the evening when he controlled the face-off with only a few seconds left in the first half, and bee lined to the cage for the goal. Beckman defense played tough holding the Chargers to 6 goals out of 28 shots taken. Goalie Matt Allen had 7 saves.

Beckman (2-2) has a busy week coming up. They host Northwood on Monday, travel to University on Wednesday, and host Tesoro on Saturday in what may be one of the best games of the week. The Chargers (3-4) host Tesoro on Tuesday and visit Huntington Beach on Friday.
