Beckman Clinches 5th Straight PCL Title     

With a 15-0 win over Woodbridge, Beckman has secured its 5th consecutive Pacific Coast League title and an automatic invitation to post-season play.  Beckman’s offense was well balanced with 9 players finding the back of the net.   Scoring for the Patriots:

Beckman’s defense and goaltending successfully stopped all of Woodbridge’s scoring opportunities.  Justin Cheng anchored the defense with 8 gbs and 7 takeaways.  Brandon Chung had 2 gbs and 3 takeaways, Jeff Mann had 3 gbs and 2 takeaways, Ethan Edwards had 1 gb and 3 takeaways, Casey Finley had 5 gbs, Zack Heller had 2 takeaways and Josh Carter had 2 gbs and 2 takeaways.

Max Cody was 12 of 16 on the dot with 5 gbs.  Tyler Schweickert was perfect between the pipes with 3 saves.

Coach Matt Cannone saif “Our defense played great setting the tone for today’s game.  Our poles were able to get the balls on the ground and then up the field.  Tyler Schweickert played great not allowing any goals.”

Beckman finishes off league play against Northwood on Thursday and Woodbridge plays Irvine on Wednesday.
