Santa Margarita began their spring break trip to the Bay Area with a heartbreaking 8-7 loss to Amador Valley on Tuesday. The Eagles built a 5-2 lead at halftime, but had difficulty generating offense in the second half. Amador Valley came storming back and scored the game winner as time was running out. Amador Valley came into the game with a 5-3 record and ranked no. 8 in the CIF North Coast Section by LaxPower.
Quentin Buchman and Jack Fisher led the Eagles with three goals apiece. Shane Cobb contributed one goal and two assists. Faceoff middie Chase Lynch continues to impress, winning 15/19 (79%). Goalie Mike Gately had 9 saves.
Next up: Santa Margarita (5-3) plays San Ramon Valley (4-4) tonight and Bellarmine Prep (4-3) on Friday.
