Aliso Celebrates Senior Night

Friday night was Senior Night at Aliso Niguel High School. The Wolverines were looking to send off their seniors in style, and that they did. Aliso faced off against South Coast league opponent, Capistrano Valley High School Cougars.

The Cougars didn’t have many answers for the pace and talent of the high efficient demonstration of the Wolverines. The last week of the season has demonstrated that the Wolverines are gearing up for playoff season. Their 2 games this week resulting in the same score; 21-8.

The Wolverines were looking to send off their seniors: A Jonah Rinaldi (6g), Face-0ff Michael Marino, M Matt Jones (2g), G Austin Stahl (8 saves), DSSM Cole Lindsay (1a), D/LSM (1g), and M Santiago Bosch (IR-torn ACL).

The underclassmen showed their gratitude by sharing the scoring duties as well with junior attack/middie Garrett Huong (3g,3a) playing sound team lacrosse, along with junior attack Jeremy Traub (2g, 1a), junior midfielder Tanner Clarke (2g), and with junior midfielder Cameron Greely (2g) seeing his longest outing of the year.

The first half was pretty much all Aliso, with the score at halftime: 13-2.

The beginning of the second half was more firepower by Aliso, and after 2 more Aliso goals, Wolverine head coach Pat Jenkins pulled senior goalie Austin Stahl to a standing ovation from the Wolverine faithful.

Leading scorers for the Cougars were Liam McDonough (2g), Drew Cases (2g), and Blake Berk (3g).

With the Wolverines scoring 56 points in their last 3 games, (2 league games- 1 being a road victory against San Clemente) they are demonstrating that they are ready for the playoff season to get under way.

Congratulations to both teams on an exciting 2015 regular season!
