84 women’s lacrosse teams ranging from U13 to Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association will compete at the 28th annual Santa Barbara Shootout Friday through Sunday. The games will be played at Santa Barbara Community College, San Marcos High School, and University of California Santa Barbara. Orange County will be well represented with high school players using the event as a tune-up for the new season.
The Santa Barbara Shootout entails full length, stop clock games that count for national rankings. On the women’s collegiate WCLA Division I level, the 2015 top 5 teams (LaxPower.com) will attend. From WCLA Division II, six teams from the 2015 top 10 will also be there.
Friday will be dedicated exclusively to the college teams. The high school and youth levels will play in addition to college games on Saturday and Sunday. Most of the high school and youth teams are from Southern California.
