3d Lacrosse, IMG Academy Announce New College Bound Series

Denver, CO –– 3d Lacrosse, the nation’s leading lacrosse services company, and IMG Academy, have announced the College Bound Series, a new event series created to give boys lacrosse teams and individual players the opportunity to be recruited by college coaches.  The College Bound Series features two full-day events for players and teams in grades seven through 12. The Fall Showcase will be held in Delaware in November and the Winter Showcase will be held in Arizona in January, 2017.

“3d Lacrosse is thrilled to add yet another incredible offering to our portfolio of industry-leading lacrosse events,” said Greg Waldbaum, 3d Lacrosse’s President & COO.

“We’re pleased to be working with IMG Academy, which has a long-standing world-class reputation for bringing out the best in student-athletes through athletic and personal development. This collaboration is a great fit as both organizations have made it their mission to provide the best experiences and create the best results for their participants and families.”

A round-robin format event, the College Bound Series Fall Showcase will take place on Nov. 5 and 6 at the newly constructed, 180-acre Delaware Sports Complex in Middletown, Delaware. This event will be held within driving distance of many of the top NCAA Division-I, II and III programs in the country, making it a convenient stop during the fall recruiting season for college recruiters.

The College Bound Series Winter Showcase will be held Jan. 7 and 8 at the Scottsdale Sports Complex, a 71-acre state-of-the-art competitive sport facility just outside of Phoenix, Arizona, with a tournament-style layout and a long list of amenities such as a lighted basketball court and an open park. A championship-style format, the event is expected to draw college coaches looking to explore burgeoning talent in the west and take advantage of the warm weather before the spring season gets underway.

Sara Munro, 3d Lacrosse’s Director of Events, said the College Bound Series events will benefit from the collaboration between 3d Lacrosse and IMG Academy.

“We know that we can create an event experience for teams and players that’s unlike anything currently offered,” Munro said.

“The 3d Lacrosse events staff’s experience hosting first-class lacrosse events and IMG Academy’s approach to bringing the best out of the student-athlete will help College Bound Series participants perform at their best while getting exposure to the top college programs in the nation.”

The College Bound Series aims to create an unforgettable experience for participating teams and players, but also for the college recruiters in attendance.

“3d Lacrosse has made a commitment to ensuring the college coaches in attendance have everything they need to create an optimal environment for identifying and evaluating talented lacrosse players,” Munro said.

Each College Bound Series event is limited to a maximum of 64 participating teams. Teams can participate in one or both days at the College Bound Series Fall Showcase, with three games guaranteed each day. Teams must participate in both days at the Winter Showcase, with a total of five games guaranteed.
