3d Southland Earns Second Place at Riptide.

3d Select Southland 2019 went 4-1 this past weekend to earn second place in the 2019 division at the Riptide lacrosse tournament hosted by 3d Lacrosse. Comprised of players from Orange and Los Angeles Counties, the Southlanders earned a spot in Sunday’s championship round by going undefeated in pool play with wins over Valhalla, 3d Select Arizona, and the NW Rippers Elite. 3d Southland’s stifling defense held their pool play opponents to an average of 5 goals per game.

On Sunday, 3d Select Southland defeated a talented 3d Select San Diego team 10-8 in the semi-finals to set up a championship game showdown with 3d Select Oregon. Oregon took home the championship with a 10-4 win.

3d Select Southland teams are comprised of players from Orange and Los Angeles Counties.  This summer 3d Select Southland offered its player a team training camp, box lacrosse training, three tournaments, uniform and player pack, training from experienced coaches and college recruiting guidance and advocacy.

3d Lacrosse has structured training camp scenarios that bring players to new levels of playmaking. Players will be exposed to the 3d Lacrosse Box-Field Hybrid™ Development System which focuses on small sided learning environments, high repetition drills, and development of player IQ. About the Riptide Lacrosse Tournament Hosted by 3d Lacrosse

The second annual 3d Riptide lacrosse tournament was hosted by 3d Lacrosse begins and ran from Friday July 8 throught Sunday July 10. Nearly 100 boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse club teams from throughout the West competed in the event. All games were played at the Del Mar Polo Fields in Del Mar, California.

Orange County teams competing in the event included:

  • 3d SoCal (Boys 2017 Division)
  • SoCal Express (Boys 2018, 19 Divisions)
  • 3d Southland (Boys 2018, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 Divisions)
  • NB Surf Dawgs (Boys 2022, 23 Divisions)
  • OC United (Girls High School Open and U13 Divisions)
  • Victory Select (Girls U15, U13 Divisions)

Games consisted of two 24-minute running halves with a 2 minute halftime. 10 minutes in between games. Tie games were setteled by a one 4-minute, sudden victory overtime followed by braveheart when necessary.
