mission logoMission Viejo chalked up their first conference win against El Toro on Tuesday with a final score of 16-5. With a tough 1 point loss against OC’s #4 ranked Tesoro in double overtime last Friday, the Lady Diablos came out hungry and aggressive from the start with 2 quick goals in the first few minutes of the game. Controlling the majority of the draws, Mission’s offense was on fire with junior Sam Leyds leading the scoring with 5 goals, junior Marissa Meissner scoring 4, junior Lauren Robinson and sophomore Maryn Macha with 2 goals, sophomore Shelley Cummings and sophomore Cameron Gordon and senior Alia Mendoza each with 1 goal. The Chargers had streaks of aggressive play with several scoring opportunities, but the Diablo defense did not allow for a rhythm to be found.
